at Avebury

Sunrise on 20 June (just in case I didn't see sun rise on solstice dawn ...)

Midsummer Boulevarde, Milton Keynes.

Like Stonehenge, it is aligned to the solstice sunrise ...

unlike Stonehenge, few people celebrate the event or even know about the alignment - but that is set to change when the new Open University Arts Faculty course AA100 begins

Silbury from the Kennet bridge, on the way to Windmill Hill

Solstice morning

Sun's up, we're up - rain's coming down

"greyraining" as Sarah says.

a few hours later, as I prepare to leave the sanctuary of the wood.

Isn't all the rain worth it to see the green?

the rain filling the sky tries to fill the bowl of Avebury among the green white hills

on the road home
